Hi! I'm Luisa, Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner and I am very pleased to be joining the team at ASC.
I often get asked about my favourite treatments so thought I'd share some of the procedures I have and can personally recommend.
Firstly, our most popular treatment and something that most of us have heard of is botulinum toxin, or botox as it is more commonly known. Botox is actually a brand name for a prescription-only medicine, licensed for treating frown lines and wrinkles. It is also commonly used to treat horizontal forehead lines and 'crows feet'. I am a real fan of natural looking results so treat very conservatively as I still like to have facial movement. I tell my patients that the idea is not to freeze your expression but to minimise lines and wrinkles at rest.
Another favourite of mine is a brand new treatment -'Dracula Therapy' - which sounds a bit scary but let me explain. Dracula Therapy (also known as Platelet Rich Plasma, PRP therapy, S3, Self Stimulated Serum or even Vampire Therapy) involves using your own blood as an injectable anti-ageing treatment. It's one of the best treatments I know of for skin rejuvenation. A small sample of blood is taken (the same as in a blood test), put into a centrifuge machine which separates red blood cells, clear serum and platelets, essentially creating a super charged skin serum which can be injected into anywhere it's needed. So what does it do?
Essentially Dracula Therapy allows the body to heal faster and more efficiently. It stimulates DNA repair, heals scars and makes dry lacklustre skin look and feel younger. It's a one-off treatment with results noticeable within 3-4 weeks and works especially well for the forehead, cheeks, neck, décolletage, hands, knees and elbows. It's amazing at skin revitalisation, tackling scars (including acne scars) and stretch marks. It can be mixed with hyaluronic acid to treat lines, mixed with botulinum toxin for a lifting effect - and really any skin related problems. Dracula Therapy appeals to patients looking for a more natural approach to facial rejuvenation; it is rejuvenation with their own cells and more specifically, autologous platelet-rich plasma. It's facial augmentation without using synthetic fillers or animal products.
Hope to see you soon!
